How to improve IT Influence?

After agreeing on technical best practices and best-of-breed infrastructure capabilities, many conversations turn circular when the focus shifts towards building a coalition for change. I am reading a book outlining "powerful influence strategies that can be combined to make change inevitable".  The book, 'Influencer', is a compelling transformation manual.  A full review can be found at the 'Business Book Review' website and on the RockStar blog. If you have great IT ideas and architecture plans, but can't influence change, the book is  highly relevant and a worthwhile read.
